GRACE PRESBYTERIAN HOSTS FOOD GIVEAWAY ON MOTHER’S DAY

Food Giveaway

Many local families received food bags from Grace Presbyterian Church and their food pantry on Tuesday, May 12.

The church gives out food bags on the second Tuesday of every month and this month, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, they saw even more cars lining their parking lot.

The routine operation was modified slightly to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines, but all of the families that rely on the church’s help were given food bags.

Their food pantry coordinator, Susan Donovan, says that the number of families that depend on them is still growing.

“We have about 300 hundred, roughly 300 families every month that rely on us for this food. We are seeing some newcomers and that’s not a problem. We just have paperwork we have to fill out for the government,” Donovan said.

The church will hold its next food giveaway on Tuesday, June 2.
