GOVERNOR BENTLEY RESPONDS TO ALLEGATIONS

SPENCER COLLIER IS NOW THE FORMER HEAD OF THE ALABAMA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY AFTER BEING FIRED BY GOVERNOR BENTLEY FOLLOWING AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION. BUT COLLIER CLAIMS HIS FIRING HAS TO DO WITH A DISPUTE BETWEEN HE AND THE GOVERNOR REGARDING THE CORRUPTION CASE OF HOUSE SPEAKER MIKE HUBBARD.

IN A PRESS CONFERENCE TODAY, COLLIER PUBLICLY ACCUSED BENTLEY OF AN INAPPROPRIATE RELATIONSHIP WITH SENIOR ADVISOR REBEKAH MASON. BUT GOVERNOR BENTLEY RESPONDED TODAY AT A PRESS CONFERENCE OF HIS OWN, APOLOGIZING FOR HIS “INAPPROPRIATE STATEMENTS OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.”

BENTLEY WENT ON TO SAY THAT HE HAS NOT CONSIDERED STEPPING DOWN AS GOVERNOR AFTER REITERATING THAT HE HAS NEVER HAD A PHYSICAL OR SEXUAL RELATIONSHIP WITH MASON. CONTRARY TO THE ACCUSATIONS THE OUSTED ‘ALEA’ SECRETARY MADE TODAY.

SHORTLY AFTER THE PRESS CONFERENCE MASON RESPONDED WITH A STATEMENT SAYING ” THERE IS NO WAY THAT MAN WOULD HAVE SAID WHAT HE DID TODAY ABOUT ANOTHER MAN. HE ONLY SAID WHAT HE SAID ABOUT MY PROFESSIONAL ABILITIES BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN.”
