GORDO MAN ARRESTED FOR RECEIVING STOLEN TVS, BLU-RAY PLAYERS

A Gordo man has been arrested for receiving stolen property after police connected him to a Nov. 1 burglary in the 700 Block of NE Rice Mine Road in Tuscaloosa.

Police say several suspects forcibly entered the building, which is under construction, and took several flat screen TVs and Blu-Ray players. Police then stopped a suspect vehicle in the vicinity, which led them to a residence in the 3600 block of NE Rice Mine Road.

Once inside that residents, officers say they recovered some of the stolen merchandise.

Rex Charles Brown, 27, was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property and placed in the Tuscaloosa County Jail pending a $30,000 bond.

The investigation is ongoing with possibly more arrests and/or charges pending.
