GENERATIONS OF GIRL SCOUTS CELEBRATE EMPOWERMENT AT ANNUAL BENEFIT

People from all around West Alabama had the chance to engage with difference makers of today and tomorrow at the One Smart Cookie Women of Distinction Celebration on Tuesday night.

Local women and businesses were nominated for their leadership, community contributions and professional accomplishments. Former Girl Scout members believe it is an honor to serve as a role model to current Girl Scouts.

“I think it was really important for me when I was younger to see that there were older people involved in Girl Scouts. I really hope to be a role model to them,” said Amanda Koh, a former Girl Scout. Koh also wants to encourage girls to chase their dreams.

All proceeds from the One Smart Cookie celebration will help to provide low-income girls with the same access to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience as girls in traditional troops.
