GE AVIATION TO BUILD TWO PLANTS IN HUNTSVILLE
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) – GE Aviation is building twin factories in Huntsville that are expected to employ up to 300 people.
Gov. Robert Bentley made the announcement Tuesday at a press conference at the Alabama Capitol.
The plants will produce silicon carbide materials used in jet engines.
Construction will begin next year. The plants are expected to begin production in 2018.
GE Aviation has an existing plant in Auburn. Bentley said the state was pleased to expand its partnership with the company.
