Gas prices continue to increase statewide

Gas prices made a major jump over the past week as the average gallon of gas costs 5.2 cents more than it did one week ago.

GasBuddy’s survey of Alabama gas stations show the average cost is at $3.06 per gallon statewide, making it 8.5 cents higher than it was a month ago, and 89 cents higher than a year ago.

According to GasBuddy, yesterday the cheapest was $2.78 per gallon and the most expensive was $3.39 per gallon.

The national average is $3.34 per gallon.
