GAME DAY TENTS
Every wonder how fans reserve their tailgate tents on Saturday home games. WVUA 23’s Yostina Banoub took to the quad to find out.
Having your own tailgate tent on the quad might seem complicated but its simpler then you think…First thing you need to know, the front part of the quad is controlled by a company UA contracts with called, Game Day Tents. Now, The back of the quad is just general public, first come first serve. For fifteen years Joe Geer’s family has been taking advantage of the first come first serve. But if you’re not into doing your own labor work, Game Day Tents has you covered. Sales manager for Game Day Tents Charles Ponder says, the company can “customize a tent or a package based off what their needs are, either by amenities or the size of their crowd and “everything will already be set up for you and after its all said and done, you walk away and we take care of everything else.”
Becky Sanders and her family have been renting from Game Day Tent for the past 8 years, they pay $3,500 a season to have everything all set up for them every home game. She says its very convenient, “we live in Fairhope, Alabama and we don’t have to bring the tents nor the tables nor the chairs, same place every time so we know that to expect, its great.”
But Geer’s on a budget, so UA providing an option to set up tents without a price tag means a lot.
“they actually still care about the true fans, its not all about money.” – Joe Geer
