Ready to meet a fun-loving and obedient pup? This week’s Fur-Ever Home might be right up your alley.

Meet Gypsy, a 10-month-old rat terrier who could be a perfect addition to your family. She features a short apricot and white coat, and weighs about 16 pounds. She loves playing outdoors and making new friends, said Amy Trice with the West Alabama Humane Society.

“She likes to sit like this when I’m on the computer and put her head under my chin, and she sits very quietly if she’s tired,” she said.

Gypsy loves to run and would make a great playmate for an active family.

“She would love to be in a home with a fenced-in yard and maybe another dog,” Trice said. “Because she loves to play with dogs. Even bigger dogs.”

Gypsy has been crate- and house-trained by the Humane Society, Trice said, and they’re working to teach her basic commands.

“I don’t know why I still have her,” Trice said. “I think she’s great.”

She’s up to date on her shots, is on flea and tick preventatives, is heartworm negative and comes spayed.

Anyone wanting to take her home can snag Gypsy for her $75 adoption fee.

If you’d like to meet her, call the Humane Society of 205-554-0011 or email them at humaneswa@yahoo.com.
