TUSCALOOSA – Deserving dog Betsy is looking for her Fur-Ever Home.

Betsy is a 2-year-old Labrador-setter mix that weighs 47 pounds. Her cream fur features a black, spotted mask that’s earned her the nickname “phantom of the opera dog.” Her liveliness and friendly behavior would be a great addition to many homes.

Tina Miller with the Humane Society of West Alabama says Betsy needs an active home.

“Betsy is very high energy,” she said. “She will need frequent walks, she’ll need a lot of experience like being out here at the dog park.”

A fenced-in backyard is a must.

Miller said Betsy was abandoned before she was picked up by animal control and taken to the Metro Animal Shelter. She eventually relocated to the Humane Society.

Betsy is current on her vaccinations, is on a flea, tick and heartworm preventative, is spayed and comes with a microchip. All that — and years of love — costs just $75.

If you’d like to give Betsy her Fur-Ever Home, please contact the Humane Society of West Alabama at 205-554-0011.
