Tuscaloosa – Looking for a pet that will jump for joy? Barney could be perfect for you.

He is a 2-year-old Shepard-Terrier mix with thick brown fur and eyes that will melt your heart. He is a medium-sized dog and will get no bigger than 30 pounds.

Barney recently joined The Humane Society of West Alabama after being picked up by animal control.

“We got him a couple of weeks ago,” Tina Miller of West Alabama said. “(We) had him neutered and had him checked out and he’s very healthy and we are just excited to have him.”

Barney is a high energy dog that loves to move around so a fenced-in backyard would be recommended.

“He does have a lot of energy and just loves to play” Miller said.

Barney is very friendly and will get along with just about anyone he comes in contact with.

“He is like the official greeter here at the dog park and he would make someone a great family pet” Miller said.

If you would like to adopt Barney and give him his fur-ever home call the Humane Society of West Alabama at 205-554-0011
