Fundraiser Thursday focused on fashion, cancer research

Calling all fashion lovers: Local event planner Keely Duke is putting on her second annual fashion show called The Runway on Thursday, Aug. 18.

The event is happening at at 7:30 p.m.the Tuscaloosa River Market on Jack Warner Parkway.

Local models will walk the runway wearing the latest fashions from five area boutiques.

Proceeds are going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in memory of Keely’s dad, Randy Snyder, who passed away from the disease in 2018.

Duke said this year’s event will be even more impactful.

“Last year, we had a great turnout, but this year is going to be even bigger and better,” Duke said. “We hope to reach more people and raise more money for cancer research. I know my dad would love this. It’s a good feeling to be able to combine his legacy with my passion for event planning and share it in this fun way with the community I call home.”
