FORT PAYNE, Ala. (AP) – A northeastern Alabama man has been accused of kidnapping two women, including his grandmother, in Fort Payne.

Multiple media outlets report that 33-year-old Brian Scott Daniel of Henagar was arrested Wednesday morning on multiple charges, including two counts of first-degree kidnapping.

Fort Payne police say Daniel’s grandmother called police early that morning, saying she had been held against her will. While the call was being taken, a traffic stop was being conducted by Officer Derek Killian for an equipment violation of a vehicle of which the suspect, Daniel, was a passenger.

A second woman was also inside the vehicle, and police say she had been kidnapped as well.

Daniel is also facing robbery, theft and domestic violence changes. It was not immediately clear if Daniel has hired an attorney.
