Pastor Appreciation Day

Local church Friendship Missionary Baptist Church held their first pastoral appreciation celebration over the weekend.

The Rev. Bruce W. Henderson Sr. recently celebrated his one year anniversary at Friendship on Sunday. Henderson preached his first service as pastor on Oct. 11, 2015 and had an installation service on Nov. 22, 2015.

The Rev. Christopher Wimberly Sr., pastor of Hunter Hill First Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, was the guest speaker at the appreciation service. There was also plenty of food and music to continue the celebration.

Henderson said that this past year the church has been blessed, and the congregation has accomplished a lot together. He also works hard to keep the church active with the public, Henderson said.

“The Lord has blessed us spiritually, numerically and financially,” Henderson said. “The campus is in excitement mode. I am loving the fellowship found at church, and thanking God for this first year.”

Friendship Missionary Baptist Church is located on the west end of Tuscaloosa, on Eighth Street. They are currently seeking a minister of music. Interested applicants can visit their website at: http://friendshiptuscaloosa.org/index.html
