FOUR MEN CHARGED FOR RAPING UNCONSCIOUS WOMAN
Four young men, three of them University of Alabama students, are facing rape charges after police say they took advantage of a 22-year-old woman at a party.
Nineteen-year-old Eddie Harris Jr., 18-year-old Fredrick Shaw, 25-year-old Deandre Dussett and 20-year-old Donald King are all charged with rape in the first degree after admitting to having sex with a 22-year-old black female while she was unconscious.
The incident occurred Tuesday night and into Wednesday morning on the 5500 block of Old Montgomery Highway. Witnesses told investigators the victim was found unresponsive inside Boardwalk Apartments.
She was then transported to DCH. Witnesses also stated the victim was knowingly drinking a beverage which had Xanax in it. Witnesses told authorities the victim passed out in the bedroom of Donald King.
Again, King, along with Harris, Shaw, and Dussett had sex with the victim while she was unconscious.
Authorities tell us at least three of the suspects were inside the bedroom with the victim at the same time.
Her condition is believed to be non-life threatening.
Captain Gary Hood says he does not believe the rapes were preconceived.
The suspects were booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on $30,000 bonds each.
Deandre Dussett was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and was held with an additional $10,000 bond.
Dussett may face more charges by the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force at a later time.
