FOUL PLAY SUSPECTED IN NORTH ALABAMA HOUSE FIRE

NEW MARKET, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say they suspect foul play in a house fire where two adults and two children were found dead in north Alabama.

Madison County Coroner Bob Berryhill says the deaths have been classified as a homicide, and autopsies are being conducted to determine how the victims died.

Berryhill says the bodies were removed early Wednesday from the rubble of a house that burned Tuesday afternoon in New Market, about 15 miles northeast of Huntsville.

He says investigators believe all the victims lived in the home, but they’re awaiting forensics results before releasing any names.

Berryhill says investigators have questioned at least one person since the blaze.

A spokesman with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office didn’t immediately return a message seeking details on the investigation.
