Former Alabama Player Martin Houston Announces Mayoral Run
Former University of Alabama football player Martin Houston, who played for the Tide under coach Gene Stallings, today announced he’s running for mayor in Tuscaloosa.
Houston announced his candidacy today in a Facebook live event on his Martin Houston for Tuscaloosa Mayor page.
According to houstonfortuscaloosa.com, Houston is “running so I can make Tuscaloosa a better place for everyone to live, work, play and worship.”
Houston currently serves as senior director of membership growth at Alabama One Credit Union, is lead pastor at Harvest Church in Tuscaloosa and hosts The Martin Houston Show on Tide 100.9.
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox announced his re-election campaign earlier this week.
