FAIRHOPE, Ala. (AP) – Heavy rains are swamping parts of coastal Alabama, causing minor flooding in some areas. And forecasters say additional storms would bring more precipitation.

Water covered several roads in Fairhope on Monday after a band of storms moved across the area, and authorities say additional problems could occur as rains continued.

The National Weather Services says at least 2 inches and as much as 6 inches of rain is possible across much of Alabama through Wednesday night.

A flash flood watch extends from the Alabama-Tennessee line to beaches on the Florida Panhandle.
