FIREFIGHTER HOSPITALIZED AFTER ANSWERING HOUSE FIRE CALL
A Tuscaloosa firefighter was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion while battling a massive house fire.
It happened around 2:30 Monday afternoon on 31st Street in Taylor Circle. It took nearly 10 fire units about 40 minutes to get the blaze under control.
Investigators say they believe the fire started in the back part of the house.
“The house is cut up pretty bad inside and had a hard time getting to where the was by then it was about to come through the roof, so we pulled everybody out and we started fighting it from outside,” battalion chief David Hallman said.
Everyone inside was able to make it out without injuries. That firefighter is expected to be okay.
