FDA BANS MOST ANTIBACTERIAL SOAPS

The FDA recently banned the majority of antibacterial soaps claiming that some of the chemicals do more harm than good.

Mark Wilson with the Jefferson County Health Department says some of these soaps could contribute to the development of bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics, which could be life threatening.

The most common chemical in these soaps include triclosan and triclocarbon.

Manna Grocery & Deli offers some alternatives that are less harmful and can be used on any skin type.

Doctors say the best way to wash your hands is to use regular soap and water.
