FATAL STABBING AT BULLOCK COUNTY PRISON
The Alabama Department of Corrections says it’s investigating an inmate’s fatal stabbing at the Bullock County Correctional Facility in Union Springs.
Officials said Clemente Curry, 37, was stabbed inside a facility housing unit during an altercation with another inmate around 5:15 a.m. on Thursday. Curry died during transportation to the hospital.
Officials said Latahhdiack Perkins is suspected of the stabbing. Perkins is serving a 35-year sentence on a 2011 murder conviction in Montgomery County.
Curry had served 15 years of a 25-year sentence on a 2000 murder conviction in Calhoun County.
The Alabama Department of Corrections Investigations and Intelligence Division is investigating the stabbing.
