On Aug. 22, a fatal car crash took the life of a 21-year-old woman and injured a 15-year-old boy.

The teenager is the son of Donny Jones, the Executive Director of West Alabama Works. Jim Page, the president and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama, said there has been a GoFundMe set up for the Jones family as their son recovers at the hospital.

Page said he’s known the Joneses for 20 years and has worked with him for the past 10. He is doing everything he can to help them out and encourages people to help in any way they can.

“So I got an update Wednesday and their son is doing better. He has a long road ahead of him but every day is a miracle and they are very thankful for the older son,” said Page. “This is a really special family that’s done a lot for this area for a long time and this is our opportunity to pay it back to them.”
