FAMILY MEMBERS PAY VISITS TO LOVED ONES ON MOTHER’S DAY

Glen Haven

Mother’s Day was celebrated differently this year for residents at Glen Haven Nursing Home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Family members of residents paid a visit to their loved ones and talked with them through the window instead of going inside the facility this Sunday.

The health of these residents is the priority but workers at the facility ensured that the residents could at least see their family on this special holiday.

One family member said that he was just thankful to see his grandmother at all.

“It’s kind of hard but due to the circumstances we’re okay with it. We call and check on her every week. We’re lucky to be able to see her today through a glass. It’s a blessing to see her on Mother’s Day so we won’t complain at all,” Xavier Marcus said.

Visits through the window allowed for somewhat of a holiday celebration in spite of the circumstances.
