A hybrid Family Dollar and Dollar Tree store covering 10,500 square feet is coming to Brookwood off Highway 216.

This new business offers crafts, party goods, pantry items and home goods. There will also be a freezer section, but no meat or produce.

Brookwood Mayor Joe Barger said he’s thrilled for his community and said Family Dollar will be a great addition.

“We are very excited about the opportunity because behind every great organization is good financial stability,” said Barger. “We feel like the more revenue we bring in for our community, the more opportunity we have to grow and have a better place to live, work, and play.”

Brookwood residents like Tori Foster are also happy. Her workplace is within walking distance of the new store.

“We saw it on Facebook,” said Foster. “We are super excited. We’re excited for it to build the community, and bring more business for some of the smaller businesses here.”

Construction starts in 60 to 90 days, and the store is set to open in January 2022. It will open 15 new job opportunities.
