FAIR HOPE FOUNDATION HOSTING GALA BENEFITING STUDENTS AFFECTED BY CANCER
The foundation is a nonprofit set up to financially assist college students affected by cancer, offering scholarships to candidates actively taking treatments or in remission, or applicants who have suffered financially or academically because of a family member’s battle with cancer.
Founder and president Byron Fair said helping these deserving students isn’t possible with tremendous community support.
“Everyone has been affected in some way by cancer,” he said. “And when we start talking about the financial burden that young adults have and the fact that we can give out scholarships to any college that they are desiring or any professional dream that they may have, it really makes the future look bright for a lot of people, so we are really excited about doing that.”
Our own Chelsea Barton is serving as mistress of ceremonies for the evening. Events include dinner, dancing, a live band and silent auction.
