Exchange Club

The Tuscaloosa Exchange Club had a meeting on Thursday, June 18, to recognize one of their members who won the District Exchangite of the Year.

This statewide award is given to a member to recognize their service to the club and community.

The Exchange Club typically meets once a week, but hasn’t met since mid-March because of COVID-19. They were all happy to meet today to recognize Glen Smith for all that he has done for their organization.

Glen Smith was honored to win the award.

“I was kind of surprised. I wasn’t sure the award even existed. Our local club has an Exchange Knight of the Year Award, anyway, this is a state award, and I’m very honored to get it. Probably not qualified but I’m going to take it and keep it,” Smith said.

Quinn Roe, the current president of the Exchange Club, was happy to give Smith the award.

“He has gone above and beyond to this club and doing so to this community that it would be an absolute shame if we didn’t recognize him,” Roe said.

The Exchange Club is a service organization focused on community support, youth development and child abuse prevention.
