ETOWAH COUNTY SEES DAMAGE FROM STRONG WINDS SUNDAY
In Etowah County, areas including Boaz and Reece City saw structural damage from strong winds Sunday.
Several minor injuries were reported in the wake of the storm, but no deaths.
Damage reports included roads and houses, and a stretch of Valley Drive in Reece City was blocked off Monday.
At the moment, the only people allowed to move around within the city are emergency crews, homeowners and approved volunteers.
“We’re already under a stay-at-home order so this just really adds to that for this area,” said Etowah County Sheriff Jonathan Horton. “We really ask people to not come through Reece City just sightseeing or riding around. It’s a task to keep people out of here who are not needed so people who are needed can get the job they need to get done.”
