ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICTS OK’D FOR TUSCALOOSA
TUSCALOOSA – Entertainment districts are coming to the city of Tuscaloosa.
The decision came Tuesday evening at the weekly City Council meeting, and the use of entertainment districts will be approved on a case-by-case basis starting in April.
Anyone of legal age would be able to purchase alcohol from businesses and leave with a drink in hand as long as they stay within the approved area.
Tuscaloosa City Councilman Matt Calderone said he’s excited for the new rules.
“I’m excited to see our downtown grow,” he said. “I think it will only be an asset to downtown, and will continue to contribute to the culture and overall atmosphere.”
