EAGLES’ WINGS ATTENDEES, EMPLOYEES MISSING THEIR HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Eagles’ Wings, a day habilitation service for adults with special needs, has been closed temporarily because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and both attendants and employees are missing the day care program.

Eagles’ Wings Executive Director Becci Hauser said it’s been difficult explaining to their normal attendants why they can’t come to the facility right now.

“It is more difficult for them to understand ‘why cant I go back to Eagles’ wings? Why can’t I go to a place I love?’ ” Hauser said. “I think just not being able to go and understand, they ask ‘why can’t I?’ I think it has been difficult on everybody, not just those with disabilities.”

Hauser said she hopes the adults they normally care for will be able to return to the site some time this summer.
