DR. MURPHY: IMPROVE YOUR HEART HEALTH THROUGH AEROBIC EXERCISE

Dr. Milady Murphy from Shelton State Community College’s Health and Wellness Center visited WVUA 23 to talk about the benefits of aerobic exercise.

According to the American Journal of Cardiology, aerobic exercise is the best method of physical activity to improve your heart health. Dr. Murphy said aerobic exercise can help lower the bad cholesterol, diminishes arterial stiffness and increases the mitochondria’s effectiveness.

According to the American College of Sports Medicine, people should partake in aerobic exercise three to five days a week for a total of 150 minutes of aerobic exercise a week.
