DOUBLE HOMICIDE SUSPECT IDENTIFIED

A suspect has been identified in a double homicide case out of Sumter County, but authorities still need your help closing the case. Investigators released images of a suspect in the case, hoping the public could help identify him. The person of interest has been identified and there are warrants for his arrest. He’s Michael Anthony Watson, a 27-year-old black male, last known to be living in York in Sumter. Watson is facing Capital Murder charges for killing roommates, 29-year-old Demarcus Ruffin and 31- year-old Matthew Kirsey at their residence on Lauderdale Road in Cuba.
Watson is also facing Attempted Murder charges in regard to Kirsey’s girlfriend being in the home at the time of the murders. She was able to run away into a wooded area behind the mobile home and escape safely.
Sumter County Sheriff Tyrone Clark wants the public to know that Watson is believed to be armed and dangerous..
