Residents located in District 4 made their way to Calvary Baptist Church Tuesday to make their selection for the vacant city council seat.

The three candidates are John Earl, Lee Busby and Frank Fleming. One voter explained why special elections are a big deal for permanent residents.

“The OCA has been particularly encouraging our residents to get out and vote because normally the turnout for a special election is low but we really need to have our voice heard a,” resident Marianne Rosenzweig said. “We feel that it is important in terms that we be represented by somebody who is voting and represents us on city council based on our interest.”
