DEPUTY: HUNTER ACCIDENTALLY SHOT, KILLED SELF AFTER FALL

ANDALUSIA, Ala. (AP) – Authorities believe that a turkey hunter accidentally shot and killed himself after he fell down a ravine in southern Alabama.

Covington County Chief Deputy David Anderson said the body of Jonathan Hugh Sellers, 67, was found dead Monday in a ravine on the man’s property. Sellers had been reported missing earlier that morning while hunting turkeys outside of Andalusia.

Anderson said the man appeared to have fallen into the ravine, which caused his gun to discharge. He was struck in the upper area of his body.

Investigators ruled Sellers’ death as accidental.
