DEER SEASON IS HERE, BUT THERE’S BEEN A FEW CHANGES
MOBILE, Ala. (AP) – Alabama’s deer hunting season has opened, but make sure you are paying attention to the new rules of the hunt.
This year many hunters got their license online. Game wardens say that’s fine, but make sure you have a way to prove that you have a legitimate license. You can carry a paper copy or keep an accessible one on your phone.
The biggest hunting change this year is that all deer killed must be registered. Conservation Enforcement Officer Jim Daughtery says there’s a free Outdoor Alabama app you can put on your smartphone. To download either, visit Outdoor Alabama online.
The hunting start time has also been changed from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunrise.
