Deep discounts for a good cause: BUY for RISE returns Friday, Saturday

Buy For Rise

After a pandemic-induced hiatus, charity sale and silent auction BUY for RISE is back again and offering buyers a chance to snag big shopping deals and support the University of Alabama’s RISE Center at the same time.

The event is returning to the RISE Center Friday and Saturday.

“We serve children with special needs as well as traditional learner peers and our children with special needs do not have to pay tuition to attend RISE,” said RISE Center Assistant Director Bailey Chambers. “So to allow them to do that, we do a lot of fundraising. We rely a lot on the community, a lot on volunteers and our families.”

BUY for RISE is the second-biggest fundraiser hosted by the RISE Center each year, and features brand new items donated from more than 35 local vendors including household items, clothing and sports memorabilia. Everything is sold at a deeply discounted price.

The event begins Friday with a ticketed preview party from 5 to 9 p.m., where items will be marked 75% off. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the RISE Center for $25, which grants admission at 5 p.m., or $10, which grants admission at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door for $15.

On Saturday, admission is free and items will be 90% off from 8 to 11 a.m.

If you are unable to make it to the BUY for RISE event you can still donate to the Rise Center using the donation link here and searching for “RISE”.
