DECOMPOSED BODY FOUND IN WEST BLOCTON SUNDAY

Authorities say a decomposed body was found near a wrecked SUV Sunday night near Griffin Town Road in West Blocton.

The vehicle has a Kentucky license tag registered to the owner of the land on which the body and SUV were found.

Bibb County Sheriff’s Deputy Kevin Lawrence said investigators believe the subject made it out of the wrecked vehicle and began walking toward Griffin Town Road.

Lawrence said no ID was found on the subject or inside the vehicle. He said it could be several months before the Alabama forensics department has a positive identification.
