DECATUR POLICE INVESTIGATING MAN’S DEATH

DECATUR, Ala. (AP) – Police say they are investigating after a man was shot to death while sitting in his girlfriend’s car in a southeast Decatur alley.

Decatur police spokesman Lt. John Crouch tells local media that the killing is believed to have happened Thursday night. The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Brandon Harris.

Harris’s girlfriend called police Friday morning when she saw that a window of her Chevy Malibu was shattered. Police responded and found Harris’s body inside the car.

Neighbors say they heard gunshots, but didn’t call authorities because police gunshots aren’t unusual in the area.

Crouch says police have not yet identified a suspect or motive. Officers are still investigating the scene and talking to family members.
