DCH’s weeklong job fair to hire more than 100 employees

DCH Health System and West AlabamaWorks are looking to fill more than 100 positions through a virtual hiring fair that’s happening now through June 15th.

Director of Employment Kelly Nichols said the job fair has had over 200 applicants since it opened Wednesday.

“I really wasn’t expecting that the first day,” she said.

Registered Nurse Kembreanna Brown said she joined DCH to make a difference in people’s lives.

“I have it on my door post to be the light in someone’s darkness and that is what I always strive to be with my patients. The light in their darkness,” she said.

And applicants, DCH is offering some hefty sign on incentives, starting at $1,500 and capping at $18,000.

A shortage of nurses causes a variety of problems, including more stress and more work for those on-staff.

Nichols invited healthcare workers seeking new opportunities to consider the many jobs available across the DCH system.

“Come be a part of change. if you have not had a positive experience, come be a part of change. We are making a career here. There are lots of ways for people to advance here.”
