DCH’S DRIVE-THRU SCREENING OFF TO A BUSY START
If you’ve got flu-like symptoms you think could potentially be coronavirus, the DCH Health System’s coronavirus task force has set up a remote screening facility for patients just like you.
It’s located in the large parking lot just west of Dr. Edward Hillard Drive near the DCH laundry facility.
The drive-thru facility allows patients to meet with medical workers who can help screen for the virus. You’ll be asked to submit a specimen for testing if you’re exhibiting flu-like symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath or body aches or have been in close contact with a lab-confirmed coronavirus patient within 14 days of symptom onset.
Vice President of Marketing and Communications for DCH Health System Andy North said they won’t turn anyone away who wants to be screened, and they’ll been screening patients as long as there is a need.
“If you still feel healthy and you think you might have it, you might want to wait,” North said. “We are going to be out here 8 to 5 every day as long as we can get the people together and we can get the material to collect samples, so don’t worry about rushing out here today if you don’t have symptoms.”
