Are you a health care worker looking for a job? DCH Regional Medical Center is hosting a fun-filled job recruitment fair later this month.
The fair, happening Thursday, Feb. 17 at the Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, is open to workers of all kinds. But the need for registered nurses is especially dire, said DCH Health System Marketing and Communications Vice President Andy North.
“We are facing some pretty distinct staffing shortages across the board: nursing, environmental services, respiratory therapists. We need some help there,” said North. “We have some increases in some of those areas recently where we are starting to pick back up, but we especially need help the nursing. So if you are a nurse looking to come back home, we would love to have you at DCH.”
Facility tours will be available during the event, and managers will be present to speak with job hopefuls.
Nurses can score signing bonuses up to $18,000, and some positions are offering additional pay.
“Everyone wants to provide excellent care and it is just really difficult with the circumstances,” North said. “Because right now many of these COVID patients are staying for a long time in the hospital.”
