DCH FOUNDATION LAUNCHES FEEDING THE FRONTLINE

The DCH Foundation’sCOVID-19 Fund has launched a program called Feeding the Frontline, matching up people who want to help DCH Health System employees and local restaurants at the same time.

Anyone can donate, and those donations go toward getting local food into the hospitals for overworked medical professionals.

“The most important piece of this is it tells the employees that the community’s got their back,” said DCH Health System Vice President of Development Molly Ingram.

It takes $250 to feed a department, Ingram said. That $250 goes directly to a local restaurant. But anyone can donate any amount.

The DCH Foundation board is made up of volunteers from around the community who know how it feels to deal with disasters and can help rally the community. That’s imperative while so many local businesses and residents are being impacted by COVID-19. Board Member Tripp Powell said Feeding the Frontline is keeping employee morale high while they’re dealing with a lot of stress.

“I would encourage anyone who’s thinking about it to give,” he said. “It helps everybody. It helps the restaurants, health care workers, and you feel better when you do it.”
