UPDATE, Dec. 9, 2021: The threat of bad weather prompted event organizers to move this event to Thursday, Dec. 16, same time and place.

If you miss the days of drive-in movies, the DCH Foundation is hosting one for a great cause.

The event is benefiting the Finn and Quinley Infant and Children’s Fund, which is a memorial foundation that benefits babies born within the DCH Health System.

The fund was created in memory of premature infants Finn and Quinley McInerney, and helps pay for specialized equipment, education and services to DCH’s neonatal intensive care, maternal/child and pediatrics units.

Movie by Moonlight Drive-In, is a socially distanced event where guests can gather by the carload and enjoy family Christmas movie favorite “Elf” starring Will Ferrell. It’s happening Friday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. at the University of Alabama’s Capstone College of Nursing parking lot.

DCH Foundation Director of Development Brandt LaPish said a single ticket is $10 and a car pass is $50.

“You can fit as many people as you can safely fit in that car, and that will get everybody some candy popcorn and a Coke for each person,” LaPish said. “There will be food trucks, it’s going to be a really great event. We hope to see everybody out there.”

You can purchase tickets right here.
