CRIMSON TIDE ON VERGE OF RECORD-SETTING START
By WVUA 23 Reporter Chad Jeter
Alabama Baseball has kicked off the season with a swift 13-0 start as they go into their final weekend of non-conference play.
This season marks the second best start to a baseball season in team history, and head coach Brad Bohannon says he is excited about this club and it’s potential.
Although Bohannon expects his club to lose at some point, a 3-0 sweep in Sewell-Thomas Stadium this weekend against Lipscomb would set in stone the best start to an Alabama baseball season in history.
Currently, the best start in program history was set in 1997 when the Tide started 15-0 on the season. Furthermore, that same team went on to lose in the College World Series to SEC foes, LSU.
The first game in this weekend’s series is set for 6 pm on Friday followed by a 2 pm start on Saturday and 11 am on Sunday.
