The Alabama Crimson Tide has been practicing in full pads to prepare for their rivalry game with the Tennessee Volunteers this Saturday, Alabama Athletics reports.

In a recent press conference, Nick Saban talked about the nature of rivalry games such as the Tennessee game.

“Like I’ve said before, you know rivalry games are always a little bit different. It really doesn’t ever make any difference what your record is or what your stats are. It’s how you play in that particular game knowing the other team is always going to play probably their best against you.”

While Tennessee has a stout offense, Nick Saban has an equally impressive record against the Volunteers. Alabama Athletics reported that Saban has a perfect 8-0 record against Tennessee, and Alabama also leads the overall series 51-37-8.

One key to beating the top SEC offense that Tennessee boasts is Alabama player is defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick. Fitzpatrick had two pick-six plays during the Texas A&M game last weekend. He was named the AutoNation FWAA National Defensive Player of the Week and the SEC Freshman of the Week because of his standout game.

The game is set for Saturday at 2:30 p.m. CT in Bryant-Denny Stadium. It will be aired on CBS.
