The beginning of this year’s college football season started off hazy. Fans wondered if there was even going to be a season. But now the Crimson Tide is looking forward to the Rose Bowl Jan. 1 against Notre Dame.

Recent University of Alabama graduate Tyler Poe said his friends even contemplated nixing their return to the university if there was not a football season.

“There’s a lot of my friends that said if we wouldn’t have had a season, then they would’ve just not worried about coming back to school or even coming here anyway, they would’ve just gone to some community college. But that just goes to show you how good football is here for the people,” Poe said.

Now that the season has prevailed, some Alabama football fans are ecstatic about the upcoming football playoffs. Not only because it’s Alabama football, but because of the events in which transpired this year that almost put a halt on the entire season.

“With the coronavirus being a thing, I was like, OK, how are they going to do this? Is it going to be a season? That was my first question. But when they went ahead and did it, I said well it’s Alabama, it’s the SEC, we’re gonna do it regardless,” said Alabama football fan Ross Bettis.

The team’s ability to continue playing and remain undefeated all while keeping the majority of their teammates safe from COVID-19 is just another reason fans are looking forward to them taking home the win for their upcoming playoff game.

Looking back at the season, it’s clear the Crimson tide didn’t let any challenges stop them from continuing on their winning streak.

And when it comes to the playoffs fans say there’s no other way.

“At the end of the day nobody’s going to win except for Bama so, hey,”sSaid Alabama football fan Lorenza James.
