Creekwood Village residents say they’ve been suffering without working AC
Not having a proper cooling system in your home can be brutal, especially this time of year. But that is the reality for some people living in Tuscaloosa’s Creekwood Village.
District 1 Tuscaloosa City Council Member Matthew Wilson said he’s gotten more than a dozen complaints from residents in the complex who say their air conditioning hasn’t been working.
Some residents, he said, were given a window unit or two to keep their home cool while the apartment’s unit is under repair.
That’s why, Wilson said, it’s important to speak up if your landlord isn’t taking care of things in a timely manner.
“I would like for every person who lives over here who is having issues with their temperatures with their units to call Tuscaloosa 311,” said Wilson. “Please report it. Someone from code enforcement will follow up.”
Wilson said he spoke with the property management company and was told repairs will be completed within 60 to 90 days.
