COVID-19 continues to devastate countless industries across the country, and the travel industry is no exception.

With 95% of the population being told to stay at home, travel is currently at an all-time low.

Most nonessential trips have either been rescheduled or canceled altogether.

Local travel agency Worldwide Travel said they’ve lost between 80% and 90% of their business.

They are still getting calls to reschedule canceled trips and plan new ones for the upcoming year.

“We are getting phone calls; they are ready to go,” travel consultant Holly Beck said. “As soon as this is lifted, they want to reschedule those trips. We will get new trips coming in and new requests coming in. We’re real excited about that. There are some great deals going on right now, so now is the time to start looking.”

Beck said they are optimistic that the travel industry will bounce back quickly once things return to normal.
