It’s still early in the season, but not too early to start thinking about the National Championship trophy. Dr. Pepper announced that The College Football Playoff National Championship trophy would be on display for football enthusiasts Friday.

Fans were able to take pictures with the 24k gold trophy, for free, at the Walmart on Skyland Blvd in Tuscaloosa from noon to 2 p.m.

The trophy then traveled to a Walmart in Bessemer from 3 – 5 p.m.

This is the fourth time the trophy has been brought to Tuscaloosa since the start of the College Football Playoffs in 2014.

The trophy is awarded to the team that wins the postseason national championship game. Winning the award is the ultimate goal of college football teams across the nation.
