Cooler Temperatures Ahead… Sunday Evening Forecast Update
Good Sunday to you! Isolated storms are few and far between throughout West Alabama. We will dry out by the time you head to bed.
Temperatures will top off in the mid 90s tomorrow. Showers and storms kick up tomorrow around mid-afternoon continue into the evening. This will help alleviate hot conditions locally.
Afternoon-evening showers and storms are possible for the start of the work week. Quick downpours, gusty winds and lightning are all possible with these storms. Temperatures dip down into the upper 80s by Tuesday. Beautiful weather is in place through the start of the weekend and Alabama football.
The Atlantic hurricane basin is quite active right now with tropical storm Idalia and hurricane Franklin. Tropical storm Idalia is near the Yucatan peninsula and is expected to continue growing in strength up to a category 1 once it is in the warm gulf waters. The National Hurricane Center expects this storm to veer toward the panhandle of Florida by Wednesday morning, meaning remnant bands of rain for us.
