COMMISSIONER DONATES FUNDS TO HILLCREST SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM FOR PLANT SALE
The special education students at Hillcrest High School just wrapped up their annual plant sale last weekend. And now, thanks to their district’s county commissioner Mark Nelson, next year’s sale is projected to be the best yet.
“The funds I am going to give will help defray the cost and give them a little more funding because they have to use that money to buy supplies they are not provided and for field trips they are wanting to do, and so many times, the parents are not in a position to pay for that and the school system is unable to provide those funds as well,” Nelson said.
The plant sale is the Hillcrest special education department’s biggest fundraiser each year.
