COLD STONE CREAMERY LEAVES TUSCALOOSA

Tuscaloosa lost a popular sweet treat as Cold Stone Creamery closed their doors for the last time.

People got their last fix of ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery when they heard Sunday was the restaurants last day for business.

Owner Glenn Dodd says he’s sad to see it go.

“The worst part of it all is we have such wonderful customers and we know that Cold Stone Creamery is a business that everyone in Tuscaloosa absolutely loves so it’s gonna be tough on them and that’s the toughest part for us as well.”

Dodd also says the landlord has chosen not to extend the lease and offered to buy out the remaining two years of the lease.

They want to have a big national restaurant in the space along with the space alongside it.

Cold Stone Creamery opened in 2002 and Dodd has been the owner since 2007.

“We’ve been coming for about the whole eight years he’s been here and it’s gonna be sad because there’s not another one in the area so we’ll have to decide what to do now.”

Dodd also says they will be closing permanently and there will be no relocation.
